Jeffrey Harrison (Georgia Poetry Circuit) campus visit & reading

In conjunction with The Georgia Poetry Circuit, The Department of Writing and Linguistics is pleased to announce that poet Jeffrey Harrison will be giving a public reading of his poetry on Thursday, April 14, 2016, from 7 to 8 p.m. A question and answer session will follow the readings. Harrison will also be giving a craft talk at 3:30 p.m. in Newton 1114. These events are free and open to the public, and books will be available for purchase before and after the reading.

Jeffrey Harrison is the author of five full-length books of poetry, most recently Into Daylight, published in 2014 by Tupelo Press. A recipient of Guggenheim and NEA Fellowships, as well as other honors, he has published poems in The New Republic, The New Yorker, The Nation, Poetry, The Yale Review, The Hudson Review, American Poetry Review, The Paris Review, Poets of the New Century, The Twentieth Century in Poetry, and in many other magazines and anthologies. He has taught at George Washington University, Phillips Academy, where he was Writer-in-Residence, College of the Holy Cross, Framingham State University, the Stonecoast MFA Program, and the Solstice MFA Program. He lives in Massachusetts.
