Alumnus James Kicklighter “Publicity, My Public Relations Degree and Film
“Shaky Ground,” a short-form documentary produced by Multimedia Film & Production Applications students, places third at the Georgia Communications Association annual film festival. In collaboration with the Okefenokee Swamp Park and the Public Relations program in Communication Arts, “Shaky Ground” begins with the historical facts surrounding the formation of the Okefenokee Swamp. Then, the documentary shifts to the different types of events, natural and unnatural, that can drastically change the ecosystem that is the Okefenokee Swamp. Finally, the film ends with climate change theories and a snapshot warning for the future. In what will likely be one of his last interviews in his official position, 82 year-old retiring Okefenokeeologist and professor, Don Berryhill, is featured. View the video here.
