Call for Entries: School of Visual Art’s 29th Annual National Conference

The School of Visual Arts in New York City presents the 29th Annual National Conference on Liberal Arts and the Education of Artists. This conference will provide a forum to discuss art: what it is, isn’t and might be, how to talk about it, how to teach it, how to treasure and treat it, historically and culturally from ancient to modern times. Presentations may include, but are not limited to topics such as: aesthetic inquiry; defining art; teaching (the art critique, class practices); production; history; criticism; craft art, high and low art; why art?; a unified theory of all art.

You must submit a 200-word proposal and publication-ready 50-word abstract that starts with “Art is…” by May 29.

When:  October 21-23, 2015

Where:  Warwick New York Hotel, New York City

Important Dates:

May 29:  200-word proposal and publication-ready 50-word abstract due

June 29:  $75.00 non-refundable deposit due, applicable to the registration fee

October 5:  $295.00 registration fee due. Student registration fee: $175.
