Letterpress Books: Guts to Glory
Books & Letterpress studio
Students will produce letterpress-printed books from start to finish, starting with hand making paper.
Clay: The Next Level
All levels. This workshop is currently full; wait list is available. One studio assistant position is open for application; see link below to apply.
An in-depth exploration of modern flameworking.
Intermediate/Applications will be juried and are due Nov. 28
Forging Fundamentals, Extended Version
Workshop focusing on the fundamentals of shaping steel with emphasis on creating functional or sculptural objects.
Janna Gregonis & Julia Harrison
Workshop investigating joined forces and forms, whether you are making wearable art or kinetic objects.
Photography in Reverse
This workshop will implement the technological and aesthetic history of photography–from digital and heading backwards into wet plate images and more.
Build It, Pad It, Upholster It
Intensive covering the construction of upholstered furniture–each student will build an ottoman and a chair.

Resident Artist Applications | Open Call
Penland will be selecting three artists in the Resident Artist Program in 2015, including one resident in hot glass or flameworking. The residency begins September 15, 2015 and ends on August 15, 2018.
