Georgia Poetry Circuit welcomes Erica Dawson on November 9
In conjunction with The Georgia Poetry Circuit, The Department of Writing and Linguistics is pleased to announce that poet Erica Dawson will be giving a public reading of her poetry on Thursday, November 9, from 7 to 8 p.m. in IT 1005. A question and answer session will follow the readings. This event is free and open to the public. Dawson’s books will be available for purchase before and after the reading.
Erica is the author of two collections of poetry: The Small Blades Hurt, winner of the 2016 Poets’ Prize, and Big-Eyed Afraid, winner of the 2006 Anthony Hecht Prize. Her work has appeared in three editions of Best American Poetry, as well as Bennington Review, Harvard Review, Virginia Quarterly Review, and many other journals and anthologies. She is Director of University of Tampa’s Low-Residency MFA program, and an associate professor in the Department of English and Writing.
