I have designed a course on aging and language.
I have conducted research in faculty development and aging concerns,
particularly with regards to technology training. Some of my research
focuses on web sites and accessibility for older users. I have worked
with faculty on improving training so that aging concerns can be
addressed. Other work has looked at older adults forming communities
on-line. I am now turning towards health literacies and older adults,
and am also examining the long term consequences for families dealing
with the AIDS epidemic in South Africa.

am writing a biography of Juliette Gordon Low, who commended her
most significant work, the establishment of the Girl Scouts of the
U.S.A., at the age of 51. In general, I am interested in women's

many women in the past have achieved their greatest accomplishments
when they were in their 50s, 60s, or older.
