Personal Interests

I am a relative newcomer to Statesboro and Georgia Southern University, and while I enjoy living in the South, I am still not used to the gnats.

My teaching duties here also reflect my research interests. In addition to the introductory course in sociology, I teach social problems, sociology of gender, and sociology of sports. In future semesters I will also teach sociology of childhood.

I am a Tennessee Titans fan and have also been known to cheer for the Cincinnati Reds, though there hasn't been much to cheer for lately.

Whenever I visit a new city I like to go to the zoo and visit the animals there-- especially the primates.

Some day I hope to see a proboscis monkey (Nasalis larvatus) in person.
