The
B.S. degree prepares students to apply their sociological eduction in
the world of work immediately upon graduation or to graduate studies in
applied areas. The B.S. degree in sociology with an emphasis in social
services is designed to meet the need of students wishing to pursue careers
in the field of human services. The curriculum includes courses that focus
on the knowledge, skills, and values which underlie rational practice
in the various fields of social welfare practice. The student also receives
broad exposure to many other disciplines which offer insight into human
needs and how best to meet them.
