Welcome to the Department of Psychology at Georgia Southern University

Psychology Department Undergraduate Research

Research is a vital part of the Psychology Department at Georgia Southern University. Undergraduate and graduate students participate in our studies, which address a broad range of topics.

Introduction to Psychology students participate in this process by learning about research and serving as research participants. Read the departmental policy on research participation in Introduction to Psychology, and the instructions for using the SONA site, which provides options for PSYC 1101 students to sign up for studies. After reading the instructions, you can participate in research. (Click here to log in to the SONA site to participate in research or to check on your research credits.) Research participation is one method by which Introduction to Psychology students learn about research, but not the only one. Students may choose to fulfill the departmental research participation requirement by completing an alternative assignment involving library or other research, which will be discussed in their class early in the semester. Students who are not yet adults complete the research requirement by performing the library research component, or a comparable activity offered to students at the instructor's discretion.
