National Black Law Students Association The National Black Law Students Association (NBLSA) is a national organization created and designed to articulate and promote the professional needs and goals of Black law students; to foster and encourage professional competence; to focus upon the relationship of the Black attorney to the American legal system; to instill in the Black attorney and law student a greater awareness of and commitment to the needs of the Black community; to utilize their expertise to initiate a change within the legal system that will make it more responsive to the needs and concerns of the Black community; to do any and all things necessary and lawful for the accomplishment of these goals. Article III, §
2(H) of NBLSAs Constitution provides for the establishment of a
College Student Division (CSD). One of the many important purposes of
the CSD is to articulate and advocate the professional needs and goals
of Black pre-law students. In addition, the CSD was developed to encourage
Black pre-law students to attend law school and pursue careers in the
legal profession; assist Black pre-law students in properly preparing
to attend law school; to advocate the goals and purposes of NBLSA through
participation and cooperation with NBLSA; and to instill in Black pre-law
students an awareness and dedication to take an active role in addressing
the needs of the Black community. For more information about the National Black Law Students Association, see http://www.nblsa.org/ Georgia
