The Music Department has scholarships available for new music majors. Offers are made by the Music Department Scholarship Committee, based on audition results and academic qualifications. Typically, the Entrance Audition for admission as a music major also serves as the audition for a scholarship. Carol A. Carter and Georgia Southern University Foundation Scholarships for new students are renewable for four years.
For additional information and details regarding auditions, see the Undergraduate Music Major Application page.
Through a substantial Endowment program, scholarships are also available for continuing music majors, based on performance/academic excellence.
For additional information on all music department scholarships, contact the Chair of the Music Department Scholarship Committee, Dr. Kyle Hancock: email@example.com.
Scholarships and graduate assistantships are available for new graduate students in music. For more information regarding application for a graduate assistantship or scholarship, see the Graduate Application page.
For other questions regarding assistantships, contact the Director of Graduate Studies in Music, Dr. Gregory Harwood: firstname.lastname@example.org
Service awards are available for all Georgia Southern students, by audition, from the directors of individual ensembles. There is not a separate audition for service awards. Directors base their decisions upon ensemble audition or entrance auditions (in the case of music majors).
