Göran Marcusson Visits Georgia Southern

Internationally acclaimed flutist, Göran Marcusson, will kick off International Week at GSU with a concert of Scandinavian music on Monday, November 12, at 11:00 AM in the Grand Ballroom of the Russell Student Union. He will be joined by English pianist, Tim Carey, for the day's activities.

There will be a master class in the Williams Center from 2:00 to 4:00 PM. All flutists are invited to attend. Bring your flute if you wish to participate in the warm-up session.

Göran Marcusson and Tim Carey will present an evening recital at 7:30 PM at the Averitt Center. All these events are free and open to all Georgia Southern Students and the general public.

 

"A Scholar Under Siege" DVD now available.

Dr. Michael Braz' opera "A Scholar Under Siege" is now available for purchase on DVD through the music department or through the University Bookstore.

Foy Fine Arts Building Under Renovation.

In the Summer of 2008, the music department will move into a renovated Foy Fine Arts Building. The renovated building will feature a state of the art recital hall, recording facilities, listening library, and many other new features.
