About Dr. Pittman

Dr. Daniel Pittman served the University in several capacities: For 16 years he was the director of bands, and most recently he served as interim director of the University’s Center for International Studies. With a commitment to internationalism, Pittman led the Department’s innovative Studies Abroad Program in Music, combining European concert tours by the performing ensembles with academic music classes offered in overseas locations in its European Academic Residency. Pittman has conducted the Georgia Southern University Symphonic Wind Ensemble in concert tours in England, Germany, Austria, Italy, and the Czech Republic and has been a guest conductor in England, Germany, Italy, and Australia. He continues to serve the profession as clinician and adjudicator.
