String Studies at Georgia Southern

The strings program at Georgia Southern University aims to provide the highest level of education for students who are performance majors as well as non-majors in both undergraduate and graduate settings.

String students at Georgia Southern University have opportunities to collaborate with and learn from world-class guest artists in master-classes, symphonic and chamber music concerts. We strive to not only ensure that students receive the highest level of music education at Georgia Southern but that through their active involvement and commitment to artistic excellence they contribute significantly to the cultural life on campus, within the community and the southern coastal region of Georgia.

Our curriculum includes private lessons, chamber music ensembles and orchestra. Degrees offered include Bachelor of Music with majors in String Performance or Music Education. A Bachelor of Arts degree in Music allows the student to minor in another academic area while pursuing music major. Master of Music degrees are also offered with emphases in Performance and Music Education.
