Georgia Southern Chorale

Georgia Southern Chorale is the premiere choral ensemble directed by Dr. Adam Jonathan Con, Director of Choral Activities. Although the membership primarily consists of voice primaries, the ensemble is also open to non-music majors. This ensemble performs choral literature from all styles periods and genres. Auditions for this ensemble are held the weekend prior to the beginning of fall semester.

In addition to numerous campus performances, GSC has appeared on conferences of the American Choral Directors Association (ACDA) and Music Educators National Association (MENC). Each year the ensemble tours throughout the region and state of Georgia. Every third year, GSU tours internationally. Some of the tours include a two week tour of Italy with performances at Saint Peter's Basilica in Vatican City , and the Palazzo Vecchio in Florence, and a tour of Ireland and England with performances at St. Patrick's and Westminster Cathedrals.


University Singers and Women's Chorus
Conducted by Dr. Adam Jonathan Con, University Singers and Women's Chorus are comprised of students from across the Georgia Southern campus. Designed to provide a quality choral experience for all students, these choirs are open to all students wishing to have a collegiate choral experience. Vocal and instrumental music majors as well as music education majors wishing to participate in a second choral ensemble often participate in these ensembles to enhance their musical experience. University Singers and Women's Chorus present 4-6 concerts annually.


Statesboro-Georgia Southern Community Chorus
Part of the University's outreach program, the Statesboro-Georgia Southern Community Chorus comprises university faculty/staff and community members. Directed by Dr. Adam Jonathan Con, the chorus performs regularly with other area choirs and with the other choral ensembles from the Vocal Arts Area. The choir also joins forces with the Georgia Southern Symphony to perform major choral-orchestral works.


Statesboro Youth Chorale
The Statesboro Youth Chorale, co-directed by Dr. Michael Braz and Ms. Sarah Hancock, is a regional children's chorus for students aged 8-13 who enjoy singing and want to be a part of a skilled performing organization. Choristers study ensemble singing, vocal production, music reading, and other skills necessary for fine performance. The rehearsal and concert season includes local and regional performances, as well as collaborations with other community and campus musical organizations.

The chorale also provides internship opportunities for music education majors.In the summer of 2006, SYC toured the United Kingdom .
