About Dr. Solomon:


Jason Solomon holds a Ph.D. in music theory, a Master's degree in classical guitar performance, and Bachelor's degrees in both music composition and performance. His research interests include spatialization, transformational analysis, music perception and cognition, metaphor, and aesthetics. He has presented papers at several conferences, including Music Theory Southeast (2006), The Harvard Graduate Forum (2005), and the UGA Music Research Symposium (2005, 2006). An article of his appears in the Winter 2007 issue of Guitar Review.

Jason has taught guitar at several colleges in Georgia and currently teaches theory and composition at Georgia Southern University. An active composer, he writes for a variety of instruments, including the electronic medium. Jason is a member of the Georgia Guitar Quartet-- an ensemble that has released four CDs and maintains a national performance schedule.
