*  “For the B.A. degree, a maximum of 30 semester hours of upper division course work in the major may be allowed to count toward the minimum of 125 hours required for graduation.”  --GSU Catalog.  Since ENGL 2131 is required for the major but is not an upper-division course, a student may still take 10 upper division ENGL courses (30 hours) and use one of those courses (3 hours) as a free elective.
