Georgia Southern University administers a substantial range of scholarships, fellowships, and loans, some of which are specifically designed to assist minorities. Additionally, the Department of History has the following scholarships at its direct disposal.

The Maxann Foy History Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate or graduate history major.

The Sally T. Gershman Memorial Scholarship is awarded to a female undergraduate or graduate history major with an academic concentration in French history and/or European Women's history.

The George A. Rogers, Jr., Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate history major with a 3.5 GPA or better.

The Michael E. Shaw Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding undergraduate or graduate history major.

The Julia Floyd Smith Scholarship is awarded to an undergraduate or graduate history major with a 3.0 GPA or better.

The Max O'Neal Scholarship is awarded to an outstanding graduate history major.

The Department of History also offers graduate assistantships with a competitive stipend for the regular academic year.
