Research and Teaching Fields: Social and Economic History of Modern China, Business History
Research Interests:
I am most interested in Chinese economic and business history. My recent research project, which is also my Ph.D. dissertation, is about a Chinese textile company during the late 19th century and the early 20th century. Compared to my research interests, my teaching interest is much broader. I am considering offering some courses in social, cultural and economic history of East Asia, and maybe a new course in global economic history, which emphasizes the commercial contacts between the East and the West.
