Students visit Georgia State Archives & National Archives in Atlanta Eleven Historian's Craft Students, two undergraduate History Majors, Dr. Cathy Skidmore-Hess and Dr. Jonathan Bryant went to both the Georgia Archive and the NARA Southeastern Branch on Saturday, Sept. 20. At both sites, archivists shared procedures for finding materials, for ordering materials, and for use of those materials. Afterward, one student explained that he had not clearly understood how an archive was different from a library, nor how rich an archives' holdings could be. Many discovered that resources critical to their research projects were indeed housed in these archives. ![]() |
