"Segovia" could be translated as "City of the Victory" or "Victorious City". In 1985 the old city of Segovia and its Aqueduct were declared World Heritage by UNESCO. It is 65 miles nortwest of Madrid. Its monuments include the Aqueduct of Segovia, constructed sometime in the 1st or 2nd century; and the Alcazar castle of Segovia, a castle built before the 11th century. There is also the Segovia Cathedral, the last Gothic cathedral built in Spain.
