Study French Abroad

A stay abroad in any French-speaking country to enhance the student's language skills and to broaden his/her cultural horizon is (strongly) recommended upon the completion of French 2002.

You may find information about the studying abroad in France or Quebec by following the following links:

Quebec City, Canada Summer Program

Tours, France Summer Program

Do not hesitate to contact any of the French professors for additional information concerning either of these programs.

Each year the department offers on a competitive basis a full academic year internship at the Institution Saint-Louis, a private high school in Saumur, France to a qualified undergraduate student. At Saint-Louis, as native speakers of English, the selected GSU students assist secondary school English teachers in their classes. All very motivated French students who have a good academic record and are enrolled in an upper-division French course may apply for this program. Previous participation in the Study Abroad program is recommended. Interested students should contact Dr. Jean-Paul Carton (E-mail; Web page). For detailed information, please click here.
