Dr. Doralina Martínez Conde is
a native of the Dominican Republic. She graduated with
a B.A. in International Studies from the Universidad
Nacional Pedro Henríquez Ureña in Santo
Domingo. Also, she graduated with a M.A. in Latin American
Studies from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio, with a M.A.
in Peninsular Literature from The Ohio State University,
Columbus, Ohio, and with a Ph.D from the University
of Massachusetts/ Amherst. Dr. Martínez Conde
has participated in several workshops such as Teaching
Portfolio, Teaching Methods and Spanish for Business.
Her areas of expertise are: Modern & Contemporary
Spanish-American Literature, Hispanic Caribbean Literature
and Culture, “Latino” Literature in the
United States, Hispanic Culture and the Cinema, Contemporary
Spanish-American Women Writers and Hispanic Culture
for International Business.
Dr. Doralina Martinez Conde has presented
more than thirty papers in conferences in the United
States, Dominican Republic, Spain and México.
She has recently published her book La narrativa de
escritoras dominicanas contemporáneas. Reseñas
y entrevistas. Santo Domingo: Editora Búho, 2007.
Also, she has published articles in Confluencia. Revista
Hispánica de Cultura y Literatura and the Journal
of the Southeastern Council on Latin American Studies.
Currently, she is co-director of the M.A. Program in
Spanish.
