The University offers
a comprehensive program of financial aid which includes
grants, scholarships, assistantships, and loans. There
are numerous scholarships targeted at select groups
of students (for example, there is one limited to students
from Liberty County). Be sure to review them all--you

Regents Study Abroad Scholarship
The University System
of Georgia awards scholarships to System students who
wish to participate in any study abroad program. Applications
can be obtained from the International Coordinator on
each campus.

Zoltan Farkas
Studies Abroad Scholarship
Farkas Studies Abroad scholarships will be awarded to
Georgia Southern University students enrolled in any
of the Studies Abroad Programs that the Foreign Language
Department is associated with (Erlangen,
Costa
Rica,
Saumur, France, Segovia).

Dr.
Zoltan Farkas
(1918-2002), a native of Hungary who emigrated to the
United States, was the first head of the Department
of Foreign Languages, established in 1955. His son,
Dr. Stephen Farkas, established a scholarship to honor
the "father" of foreign languages at Georgia
Southern. If you wish to make a contribution to the

Spanish Travel
Scholarship
A
Spanish Travel scholarship will be awarded to a student
enrolled in the Department of Foreign Language Studies
Abroad Program in
Segovia,
Spain. Contact the department
chair for more information.

Graduate Assistantship
Graduate Assistantships are available for French or
Spanish. Students may pursue a Master of Education (M.Ed.)
with financial aid from this assistantship.
