Major Requirements
Complete the Core Curriculum. Elective
Hours are available; they may be used to complete a second
major, one or more second minors, or clusters of related
courses in several different areas.
Twenty-four of upper-division coursework
are required for the major, and fifteen hours of upper-division
coursework are required for the minor (three hours may be
from lower division courses, i.e. 2001). All students who
have completed the intermediate level (2000) are eligible
to earn up to nine hours of upper-division credit in the
appropriate Studies Abroad Program. These nine hours of
credit are applicable to the major or minor in the chosen
foreign language.
A minor is required for Foreign
Language majors. Select from this group: Anthropology; Art;
Biology; Chemistry; Communication Arts; Computer Science;
Economics; English; French; Geography; Geology; German;
History; Journalism; Library Science; Mathematics; Music;
Philosophy; Physics; Political Science; Psychology; Sociology;
American Studies; International Studies; Linguistics. After
completion of the first minor, you may select second minors
from this group: Business; Family and Child Studies; Food
Service Management; Information Systems; Interior Design;
Nutrition; Textiles, Clothing and Fashion Merchandising.
