Requirements for the B.A.
|
- For a Major:
Twenty-four hours from upper-division
courses (3000 and 4000 level), at least nine of which must be
at the 4000 level. Half of these courses must be taken at Georgia
Southern. A minor in another subject is also required.
Double majors, combining with another
subject, are possible and very popular. For minors required
with a major, combinations with International Studies, Comparative
Literature, or another language are good choices (the latter
certainly enhances your marketability for a teaching position).
- For a Minor:
Fifteen hours from upper-division offerings.
Nine of these hours must be taken at Georgia Southern. Prerequisite:
2001 or equivalent.
Note: A grade of
"C" or better must be made in every course to be
counted for the major or minor.

Foreign
Languages and Degrees in Other Fields
You can get your degree in a program
affiliated with:
- International Studies
- Political Science
- International Trade
Most of the French, German, and Spanish
majors use the considerable number of elective hours in the
program to combine the study of these languages with a second
field. The department maintains sample programs showing the
combinations. They can be devised for most majors offered at
Georgia Southern.
