Position Title:                                         Secretary (Benefitted, Part Time) (Req. TBD)

Position Description:                           Communication Arts. Under direct supervision, perform standard secretarial and minor administrative duties.

Minimum Requirements:                      High School Diploma or equivalent; one or more years of secretarial experience (working halftime or more); proficiency with computers and Microsoft Office Applications software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and databases; effective communication skills (verbal and written); organizational and human relations skills; ability to work well in a diverse environment; successful completion of background investigation prior to employment.
                                                           
Preferred Qualifications:                      Three or more months of post-secondary education; ability to multi-task and process high volumes of paperwork such as forms, correspondence and reports.

Salary:                                                 Minimum $8,056 to midpoint $10,069

Position: Marketing Communications Coordinator Or Marketing Communications Manager (dependent on experience)

Experience : Entry Level to 2-3 years experience
Reports to : Marketing Communications Director
Salary : $34-$38,000 with full benefits

Summary : Assists the M/C Director with all segments of the GCVB's marketing, communications and public relations programs

Duties & Responsibilities:

Web : Updates the GCVB website on daily/regular basis, work with web design/maintenance firm on regular basis; handle updates and integrations of packaging, online booking or other programs with web vendors

Writing : Writes, edits and sends out press releases on a regular basis; ability to assist with writing copy for a variety of GCVB publications; may work with ad agency for ad copy; feature writing for quarterly newsletter publications

Administrative : Includes assistance with front office phone duty on limited basis; support letters for sales staff; and other admin duties as necessary

Publications: Assistance with writing, revising, editing, proofing a number of annual publications; work with free-lance designers and printers to ensure accuracy

Media Relations : Familiarity with Bacon's/Cision Media Database; responsible for creation and distribution of various media lists; follow-up with media for editorial pitches; assistance with travel writer FAMs, trade show editorial and news pitches

ASSISTANT COORDINATOR OF PUBLICATIONS & COMMUNICATIONS


The Office of Admissions has a position opening for an Assistant Coordinator of Publications and Communications. The candidate will be primarily responsible for managing the communications plan for 30,000 prospective students which includes, but is not limited to, drafting and sending all e-mail and postal mail communications carried out through the prospect management database; maintaining, writing and updating content for personalized web pages; pulling data from the prospect management database for reporting purposes; importing and exporting all necessary data to and from the prospect management database. The position will also assist with the planning and implementation of recruitment strategies and a communication plan for all undergraduate, graduate, and international students through the development of various publications, including, but not limited to the World Wide Web, print media, and electronic mail and the use of a prospect management database. Other responsibilities include presenting at group and individual information sessions for campus visitors; providing regular correspondence to prospective high school students by telephone, e-mail, and hand-written letters; assisting in resolving specific admissions problems; disseminating information regarding the University regulations and policies; and assisting with the management of other recruiting activities as assigned by supervisor.
