The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) at Georgia Southern University is committed to offering quality undergraduate and graduate degree programs that prepare students to become professional artists, designers, art historians, and industry leaders.
Offering a comprehensive curriculum encompassing the practical, theoretical and historical aspects of the visual arts, the BFSDoArt is recognized as an accredited member National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD).
With six undergraduate degree program options and two in the graduate level, BFSDoArt students are given the opportunity to select a course of study that best challenges and interests them. Georgia Southern students can enhance their degrees by choosing to minor in Animation/New Media, Art History, Graphic Design, Photography/Digital Imaging, or Studio Art. To assist with tuition and supply costs, the BFSDoArt offers over 15 scholarships, two specifically for incoming freshman.
Gallery programming, housed in the Center for Art & Theatre, and visiting artists/lecture series provide students with contemporary art inspiration and experience. During their course of study, B.F.A. and B.A. students are also given the opportunity to exhibit their own works in shows such as the Graphic Design Portfolio Review, Juried Undergraduate Show, and the Form & Content foundation art show.
