With six undergraduate degree program options and three in the graduate level, BFSDoArt students are given the opportunity to select a course of study that best challenges and interests them. Georgia Southern students can also choose to enhance their degrees by choosing to minor in Graphics Communications Management (GCM), Art History, Graphic Design, or Studio Art. To assist with tuition and supply costs, the BFSDoArt offers over 15 scholarships, two specifically for incoming freshman.
Aside from a challenging academic schedule, the BFSDoArt offers students numerous opportunities for future career development as well as community engagement. Students from the department host events such as the fall Empty Bowl Project benefitting the local food bank, ArtsFest promoting family fun and arts education, and several art sales to allow students the opportunity to showcase and sell their work.
Gallery programming, housed in the Center for Art & Theatre, and visiting artists/lecture series provide students with contemporary art inspiration and experience. During their course of study, B.F.A. and B.A. students are also given the opportunity to exhibit their own works in shows such as the Graphic Design Portfolio Review, Juried Undergraduate Show, and the Form & Content foundation art show.
