Abstract Narratives: Controversial Art that You Can Walk Around
Jolanta Paterek welcomes controversy, and it is portrayed brilliantly in her art sculptures being exhibited at the Agora Gallery on November 1st, 2007. Paterek's style touches on human reality and psychology; it is considered aggressive and dramatic. Her unique way of communicating through art is quickly becoming historically significant - it is being called art beyond time and future.
Jolanta Paterek's creations have been referred to as "intimidating". The material and objects are distorted and courageously challenge the observer. The twisted human shapes and pieces substantiate themselves yet, at the same time, stimulate a striking impression in its audience. While her controversial art is a picture, you can walk around it the entire piece.
With artwork that is considered "a work of genius", Paterek's "Abstracts Narrative" Exhibition will be an "event of the century". Current prices (range $300,000 to $620,000) are expected to triple in the near future. Ms. Paterek is available for newspaper, radio, and television interviews; contact the artist directly at 678-425-1100. Information on the exhibit is as follows:

The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art will be hosting screening and discussion of the film, As the Call, So the Echo , with film maker, Keir Moreano on Tuesday Nov. 14 at the Union Theater at 7:00pm, as part of International Week's festivities.
Keir Moreano's film, documents the humanitarian efforts of his father, Alex Moreano, a doctor who donated medical equipment and medical services to a small hospital in Hue, Vietnam. As the film synopsis online states: "In the film, Dr. Moreano discovers the reality of third world medicine rarely seen by Western doctors. Undersupplied clinics are presented with pathologies that have progressed far beyond the stages where they are usually treated in the United States and Europe. Dr. Moreano finds himself treating conditions he has rarely seen since medical school, if at all. Confronting both a language barrier and a lack of equipment he endeavors with the Vietnamese doctors to provide the best care possible against considerable odds. GSU is fortunate enough to have both Keir and his father visit to speak about their experiences while in Vietnam.
