Ed Rushton, MFA, The University of Iowa, is an associate professor of graphic design in the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art.

Locally, Rushton’s professional design research has allowed him to design the invitation, mailer, and card for the 2010 Graphic Design Portfolio Reveal at the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art, Georgia Southern University; the 2010 Portraiture prospectus, Averitt Center for the Arts, Statesboro, Ga.; and Art in the Low Country prospectus, Averitt Center for the Arts.

He was awarded the Purchase Award at the 24th annual McNeese National Works on Paper Exhibition, Abercrombie Gallery, McNeese State University, Lake Charles, La.; also two of his pieces were selected for the 14th annual National Juried Show, Gallery West, Alexandria, Va., where his work was selected by, Juror, F. Lennox Campello, a highly recognized freelance art critic and curator.

Rushton has made several presentations and artist talks across the U.S. Recent Work: Furman University Art Department, Furman University, Greenville, S.C.; The Phenomena of the Non-Art and Design Major: Discouragement or Encouragement? Foundations Art: Theory and Education Biennial Conference, St. Louis, Mo.; and Visual Plagiarism, Georgia Conference of Information Literacy, Coastal Georgia Center, Savannah, Ga.
