Jason McCoy, MFA, Georgia Southern University, serves as the studio technician for the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt). McCoy’s responsibilities include the maintenance of materials and equipment used by the Department, as well as maintaining a safe environment for BFSDoArt students to work in. McCoy also serves as a vital part of the Department’s special projects including Eagle Nation on Parade.
During McCoy’s time working and learning at Georgia Southern, McCoy has participated in community projects and created several commissioned pieces of artwork. He was a part of the Casting Out Cancer Project hosted by the Statesboro Bulloch County Breast Cancer Foundation, where his talents served a meaningful cause of creating body casts for breast cancer survivors. He has also volunteered with the Cherokee County Arts Council, Cobb County Arts Alliance, Rivers Alive, and the Cobb County Adopt-A-Stream program.
McCoy’s commissions include pieces for the Averitt Center for the Arts, Keep Bulloch Beautiful, and the Cobb County Water System. His work is featured in the collections of the Georgia Southern University Botanical Gardens, Kennesaw State University, Dr. Fred Laun of Statesboro, Ga., and Eino Art in Nevada.
