Derek Larson, MFA Yale University, teaches courses in digital technology and is director of the MFA program. He has been prolific in receiving global residencies, grants and exhibitions. In 2013 he was a finalist for the Hudgens Prize in Atlanta and in 2014 he received the SECAC Fellowship Award and David Bermant Foundation Fellowship. He teaches in the Summer Studio Program at VCU and has been featured in The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, The Boston Globe, The Seattle Times and New American Paintings. Larson has exhibited nationally and internationally with recent shows in New Orleans, Philadelphia, New York and Boston.
Mr. Larson was awarded the 2016 University Award for Excellence in Research and the 2015 College Award of Distinction in Scholarship.
