Don Armel, PhD, Southern Illinois University, is a professor of graphics communication management in the Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art with expertise in printing management, bindery and finishing, and flexography.

Armel provides for expansion and upgrades for the Georgia Southern University Bindery Lab and Graphic Communication Technology Lab through grant opportunities.

He has presented several presentations including “Structure of Text: Creating Memory Aids Through Typography,” Georgia Conference on Information Literacy, Savannah, Ga.; and “Why Do We See in 3D,” Georgia Association for Career and Technical Education, Atlanta. A few of his distinguished awards include: Best in Category- Flexographic Label, Printing and Imaging Association of Georgia, Service, University; Best in Category – Self Promotion, Printing & Imaging Association of Georgia, Teaching; and the Faculty Excellence Award, University wide award.

Armel has provided professional services for other institutions as a judge and author for the written test of Regional Skills USA, Kennesaw, Ga.
