Outreach & Events
The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art takes prides in giving back to the local community and for offering events and services to provide students with valuable workforce experience. Students and faculty are given the opportunity to show case their artwork and to be inspired by professional, contemporary works through gallery programming and visiting artists/lecture series housed in the Center for Art & Theatre. Students’ talents are also showcased throughout the year, including at the annual Evening of the Arts gala that provides an opportunity to raise funds for scholarships and the biannual Student Made (formerly “Club Mub Exhibition & Sale”).
Each semester, BFSDoArt students power two community-based events — the Empty Bowl Project in the fall and ArtsFest held each spring. During the summer, the graphics communication program is in full swing, with interested high school students and recent graduates getting a taste of the GCM program at Georgia Southern University during Graphics Summer Camp.
Trust us, there’s never a dull moment in the BFSDoArt!
