Student’s Receive Awards for 2013 Juried Undergraduate Exhibition

Undergraduate Exhibition Awards Announced

The Betty Foy Sanders Department of Art (BFSDoArt) announced the 2013 award recipients for both undergraduate exhibitions on April 12 during the shows’ reception. Both the 2013 Undergraduate Juried Exhibition and Form & Content and 2013 Foundations Exhibition will close April 19.Don’t miss your opportunity to see the BFSDoArt’s outstanding undergraduate work!

Tucker, Ryan Caronongan, Drew Pate, Matt Veal, Toni Todd, Zach Blount, Aaron Ward, Matthew Swab, Elaine Chambers, Mary Hathaway, Austin Cates, Mallory O’Hara, Millie Fortner, Aulbri Little, Shelby Myers O’Donnell, Cierra Willingham, Amy Bryan, Dalton Foret, Katie Sullivan, Jasmine Haynes, Justin Hinckley, John Howard, Ruth Williams, Jennifer Burnett, Sarah Coonce, Jamie Clarke, Stacy Hattaway, Aaron Young, Paola Robeio, Shaunte Francois, Antonia Gorham, Lindsay DeBlasio, Sara Sheffield, Lois Harvey and Nathan Miner.

Awards were presented to Toni Todd, Best of Show; Emmitt Smith, Best 2-D;  Lois Harvey, Best 3-D; Ryan Caronongan, Honorable Mention; and Millie Fortner, Honorable Mention.

About the Juror
Phillip Counselman, chair of the art department at University of Mobile, was the juror for the exhibition. Counselman received a MFA in sculpture from the University of North Carolina-Greensboro and has curated or juried more than 25 exhibitions nationally. His work includes numerous exhibitions at institutions such as The Huntsville Museum of Art; Gadsden Museum of Art; Pensacola Museum of Art; Weatherspoon Museum of Art, Carolina-Greensboro; Auburn University; and The Southeast Center for Contemporary Art.
