It has been brought to my attention by some of our students that there is a custodian, working the 11 p.m. to 7 a.m. shift, who has made inappropriate comments and advances towards some of the students working late in their studios.
We do not take this lightly.
In addition to the custodian’s supervisor, we have also notified the Director of Human Resources and the Dean of the College of Liberal Arts & Social Sciences. They are taking the proper actions to rectify this issue.
I would like to remind you that our doors are always open — please bring any issues, big or small, to the attention of either your professor, myself or my assistant, Stephanie Neal. If you are working late into the night, it is important for you to call Public Safety if you see a suspicious person or someone is acting inappropriately. Our studios are our space, and you should feel safe while working.

On a more positive note — we are looking forward to spending the day with you tomorrow at ArtsFest!
