Mission & Strategic Agenda
The College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences, the University’s College of the Creative Mind, prepares students to achieve academic excellence, develop their analytical skills, enhance their creativity, and embrace their responsibilities as citizens of their communities, their nations, and the world.
In fall 2010, the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences (CLASS) engaged in a strategic planning exercise that involved over 40 faculty members, department chairs, center directors, students, and external stakeholders. From their efforts emerged a draft Strategic Agenda that was distributed College-wide for additional faculty and staff review and input. After final revisions, the Strategic Agenda was approved by the College Faculty Advisory Board on December 3, 2010.
The CLASS Strategic Agenda 2010-14 will guide planning, decision-making, and resource allocation in the College of Liberal Arts and Social Sciences over the next five years. I am exceedingly proud of the vision for excellence that it represents, and I am grateful for the efforts of all who shaped it.
