Hala Moddelmog

As the first woman to hold the presidency of a quick-service foodcompany, Churchs Chicken President Hala Moddelmog, class of 1979, has been recognized as one of the top 50 hot new players in the restaurant industry. From her office on the 18th floor of a towering skyscraper in Atlanta’s Buckhead district, she oversees operations supporting nearly 1,500 restaurants located across the United States and abroad. Churchs is the world’s second largest quick-service chicken restaurant chain.

Moddelmog’s career success came in marketing, and she credits her Georgia Southern English degree and experiences analyzing English literature with providing her the foundation for analyzing complex business markets. She is passionate about her work and strongly committed to social causes. Diversity, community activism, and strategic philanthropy are especially important to her. Through her leadership at Churchs, the company engages in activities to support growth and social change in these areas.

Moddelmog is a member of Georgia Southern’s College of Business Administration Hall of Fame and served as the Fall 1998 Executive-in-Residence for the University’s Center for Retailing Studies.
