Georgia Southern professor makes $11,000 donation.

Georgia Southern history professor Dr. Sandra Peacock has donated a collection of research books valued at $11,000 to the University Foundation for use by the Zach Henderson Library.
The chair of Georgia Southern’s history department, Peacock gave the “Oxford Dictionary of National Biography” (DNB) for use as a research tool for history students and other researchers. The DMB is a 65-volume collection containing more than 50,000 biographies of notable figures in British history.
The DNB is available for reference by Georgia Southern students, faculty or other Henderson Library patrons. (3/28/05)

 

Wilson to be Fifth "Focus on Excellence" Series Speaker

Dr. Janie Wilson, associate professor of psychology, will be the fifth speaker in the Focus on Excellence Award Series Tuesday, March 29, at 4 p.m. in the Arts Building Auditorium Room 2071. Her lecture is titled “Building Rapport in the Classroom.” Wilson is the recipient of the Award for Excellence in Contribution to Instruction, which is an effort to honor contributions to the teaching-learning process at the institutional level. A reception will follow the presentation.
