Jennifer Abshire

Jennifer Abshire has built upon her 1987 Georgia Southern University degree in communications and general business to create a successful career in marketing and fundraising. As a self-employed organizational development/marketing consultant for the last three years, the Savannah resident has worked with clients such as the Savannah Economic Development Authority, Memorial Medical Center, the Telfair Museum of Art, and others to assist them in developing strategic marketing plans, new business cultivation, special events, and executive training programs.

As executive director of the Savannah Olympic Committee from October 1992 to December 1996, Abshire led the effort to acquire more than $2 million in corporate support for the Savannah portion of the Olympics, organized staff, supervised official Olympic ceremonies, and served as spokesperson for the Savannah Olympic effort.

She puts her enthusiasm and talents to work in the community as well, serving as a board member for the Georgia Southern University Foundation and the Royce Learning Center in Savannah, and as a member of the Junior League of Savannah. Abshire is a graduate of Leadership Savannah and Leadership Georgia.
