This course is designed to introduce students to the
central role that gender plays in social life. It focuses on the ways
that gender affects the lives of both women and men in different social
arenas, including family life, schools, religion, the workplace, and
the healthcare system, by taking an in-depth look at feminisms, feminist
ethics, and feminist movements. The course places a particular emphasis
on how gender is intertwined with issues related to race and ethnicity,
social class, and sexuality. |
