This course focuses on childhood as a social phenomenon.
How is childhood socially constructed? How do children experience
society? How are they shaped by the social institutions (such as family,
school, mass media, and sports) in which they take part, and how do
they, as social actors, shape society? How do children deal with the
problems of society and how does society deal with the problems of
