As a part of Mystery Week,
ReVISION sponsored "The Mysterious Panel on Women's Mysteries,"
November 7, 2002. The gender related questions given each panelist, and
compiled by the ReVISION group, were ones such as "Do they [the women
mystery writers] have partners or confidants?" or "Does violence enter
into the mystery, and if so, what type?" ReVISION panelists, Andrew
Deloach, Julie Douberly, Heather Holloway, Marti Lee, Melanie Satterwhite, and
Jessi Dunlap, chose female mystery writers from various countries, such as
Australia, England, the U. S., and Japan, and discussed the significance of
gender in their chosen works. The event attracted about twenty-five
visitors from the community and the university, and the panel allowed a most
interesting question and answer period, which everyone enjoyed enormously.
